Motor tariff premium rates revised

A revision in motor tariff premium rates in Malaysia will take effect from Jan 16 on a gradual basis over the next four years.

Bank Negara said at a briefing that the premium adjustment, which would be implemented in small amounts over a measured pace, was expected to have only a marginal impact on the public and businesses.

For example, in respect of third-party cover, motorcycles of 100cc would experience a premium increase of between RM1 and RM3.50 per year over the next four years. For a private car of 1,400cc, the premium adjustment would be in the range of RM6 to RM34 per year over the next four years.

The premium adjustment for commercial vehicles such as outstation taxis and buses, on the other hand, would see only a minimal impact of less than 10 sen per passenger per trip.

Tariff adjustments aside, the element of loading would still apply based on the risk profile and age of the vehicles, but the maximum rate of loading would remain unchanged at 150%.

The upcoming revision in motor tariff premium rates forms part of the New Motor Cover Framework that is aimed at addressing the structural issues within the motor insurance sector to ensure continuous and sustainable motor protection to users.

It will be the first to be undertaken after more than 30 years of non-revision, despite the fact that the levels of car ownership, accident rates and claim incidences have risen significantly over the years, thus putting cost pressures on the country's motor insurance industry.

Malaysia now has 19 million registered vehicles.

Under the new framework, Bank Negara said the adjustment on motor tariff premium rates would be reviewed periodically to ensure that the adjusted premium rates would be reflective of the claims experience.

The new measure was expected to pave the way for the de-tariffing of motor insurance sector in Malaysia by 2016, following which motor premium rates were expected to be further differentiated according to the risk profile of individual vehicles to ensure fairness to consumers.

The new framework would also encompass enhancing efficiency in claims settlement process.

Bank Negara said the objective was to ensure that all claims would be settled within six to 18 months, compared with the present average lead time of up to five years.

As part of an initiative to enhance the efficiency, Bank Negara said it would introduce a motor insurance claims kit to expedite notification of an accident and claims as well as the establishment of a nationwide 24-hour call centre to provide immediate roadside assistance to accident victims in the first quarter.

The central bank is also working on a review of legal fees in bodily injury cases, measures to incentivise early claims notification and leverage on hospital counters to facilitate claims notification as well as the development of guidelines on long-term nursing care.

These initiatives are targeted for completion by June.

Rakyat masih tertanya-tanya adakah itu merupakan tarikh sebenar pembubaran Parlimen untuk memberi laluan bagi PRU 13?atau itu juga hanya khabar angin.Sama-sama kita nantikan detik itu.

Saya kurang pasti mengenai pusat servis kereta lain di Malaysia, tetapi secara peribadi Pusat Servis Toyota menawarkan perkhidmatan yang sangat baik. Memang servis first class.

Ruang menunggu ada internet, ada tukang buat kopi, ada biskut, ada majalah dan surat khabar terkini. Layanan pekerja di kaunter pun bagus, layanan pekerja teknikal pun bagus. Masa menunggu pun tak lama.

Cumanya kena booking awal jika dekat musim perayaan. Satu lagi yang menarik, diorang ada database pelanggan berdasarkan no. plat kereta. Selepas kereta siap, kita akan dapat sms dan panggilan. Biasanya lebih awal daripada masa yang dijanjikan.

Servis yang diberikan oleh Pusat Servis Toyota Malaysia adalah sangat bagus. Cuba baca artikel di bawah mengenai Peroduo ingin belajar dari Daihatsu China untuk mengendalikan Pusat Servis.

MELIHATNYA sahaja kelibat pelanggan atau kereta mendatangi atau memasuki premis, kakitangan akan sedia meluru kepada pelanggan untuk membantu.

Pelanggan, kemudiannya turut disambut oleh kakitangan lain dan diberikan layanan istimewa di pusat servis yang lengkap dengan kemudahan seperti lapangan mainan kanak-kanak.

Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi memaklumkan cara tuntutan baucar buku RM200 yang diumumkan oleh YAB Perdana Menteri semasa Pembentangan Bajet 2012 kepada pelajar IPTA, IPTS, Politeknik, Matrikulasi/Asasip Sains dan pelajar Tingkatan 6, seperti berikut:

1. Semua pelajar warga negara Malaysia yang berdaftar sebagai pelajar aktif di IPTA, IPTS DAN POLITEKNIK mengikuti pengajian pada peringkat Diploma, Sarjana Muda, Sarjana dan Ph.D,matrikulasi/asasi dan pengajian persediaan termasuk pelajar di tingkatan 6 secara sepenuh masa dan separuh masa di institusi pengajian tinggi dalam negeri pada Januari 2012 layak mendapat baucar buku bernilai RM200.

2. Pengagihan baucar buku kepada pelajar-pelajar dibuat melalui IPTA, IPTS, Politeknik dan sekolah masing-masing dalam bulan Januari 2012. Sila hubungi IPT dan sekolah masing-masing untuk untuk mengambil baucar berkenaan.

3. Semua IPT telah menyediakan senarai nama pelajar, berserta nombor Kad Pengenalan dan Nombor Metrik / Nombor pendaftaran mereka yang layak. Pelajar perlu memastikan nama, no. kad pengenalan dan cop IPT masing-masing diisikan pada setiap keping baucar yang bernilai RM50.00 setiap keping.

4. Baucar buku boleh ditebus di semua kedai buku yang menyertai program ini dan penyertaan kedai buku adalah terbuka kepada semua.

5. Baucar ini adalah untuk pembelian buku – buku akademik, jurnal, majalah ilmiah dan peralatan pembelajaran berdasarkan keperluan IPT masing-masing. Buku Interlok dah tak perlu dibeli kerana dah dikeluarkan sebagai buku teks sastera.

6. Tuntutan bayaran balik baucar akan dibuat oleh kedai buku terus kepada Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN). Tuntutan hanya boleh dilakukan sehingga 30 April 2012

7. Tempoh masa sah laku baucar buku ini adalah selama tiga bulan mulai daripada 1 Januari hingga 31 Mac 2012.

8. Pelajar tidak dibenarkan sama sekali menebus baucar buku ini dengan wang tunai.

Many of proton lovers waiting for mid August for the launching of Proton newly born baby. The name remains mystery, but in many car forum, the names already leaked. But it has not been confirmed yet as the model name will only be announced during the launching ceremony which has been scheduled in Mid August.

Honda CR-Z MUGEN hybrid

Honda UK has launched an official road-going version of the CR-Z MUGEN which will arrive at dealers in UK sometime spring 2012. Honda's eight specialist MUGEN dealers will retail the hot Honda CR-Z iCF for a list price estimated at around £24,000.

This hot hatch claimed to be hot as Civic Type R hot hatch with 0-62mph taking 6.1 seconds – more than 3 seconds faster than standard. It is also capable of over 130mph, thanks to a 175hp power output that's up over standard by more than half.

This performance boost has been achieved by the MUGEN Euro engineers, who have fitted a centrifugal forced air induction kit, charge-air cooler and a MUGEN Euro remap for the ECU. This improves torque as well as power.

Yet despite the performance changes, Honda has retained the 3-button IMA modes that help the hybrid Honda return strong fuel consumption figures.

Martin Moll, Head of Honda (UK) marketing said, "MUGEN Euro magic has created a super responsive yet eco-conscious model building on our sporting credentials and giving us the ability to compete in the "hot hatch" marketplace as we move into 2012."

There's still work to be done, which is why the car will not go on sale until the spring. When it does go on sale though, it will become the second production car to be jointly developed by Honda and MUGEN Euro, following the 2010 Civic Type R MUGEN.

PROTON Holdings Bhd has today unveiled a new entry-level Saga variant, the Saga FLX SE which is targeted to hit the younger generation of car buyers.

The Powerplant

Proton Saga FLX SE is powered by the 1.6-litre Campro IAFM engine with the continuously variable transmission (CVT) automatic transmission. The advantage of having CVT transmission in this model as its capable in delivering better torque (four per cent better acceleration), and reduces fuel consumption by an additional four per cent compared with the current 1.6-litre Saga.

Price
Proton Saga FLX SE is priced from RM49,449. Priced RM2,900 above the current selling 1.6-litre automatic Saga FL.

Colour
Available in two colour choices – Solid White and Fire Red.

Warranty
The Saga FLX SE comes with a three-year or 100,000km warranty, whichever comes first.

Proton Holdings Bhd expects to seal a joint venture agreement with Mitsubishi Motors Corp by year-end to produce Mitsubishi sedan models at its Tanjong Malim plant.

Its group managing director, Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, said under the agreement, Mitsubishi would manufacture 60,000 units a year and via this agreement it would increase the plant's production capacity to 90 per cent.

"The plant currently operates at between 56 and 58 per cent capacity," he told a media briefing after the announcement of the company's second quarter 2011′s results here Tuesday.

Syed Zainal said under the memorandum of understanding it signed with China's car firm, Hawtai Motor Group Ltd, Proton would expand its presence in the Chinese market, where it would sell four Proton models under Hawtai badge.

He said the companies were expected to conclude the agreement by year-end or early next year.

Meanwhile, Proton recorded a lower pre-tax profit of RM47.524 million for the six months ended Sept 30, 2011 versus RM185.914 million chalked up in the corresponding quarter last year.

On the second-half outlook, Syed Zainal said although the Malaysian Automotive Association has forecast a downtrend, Proton would overcome it with the introduction of its Saga face-lift, Saga FLX Special Edition, in December.

"2012 will be an exciting year for us with the introduction of four models — Exora Bold and Exora Prime, Inspira R3 and a sedan codenamed 'P3-21A' — which are expected to be launched early next year," he said.

He said the 'P3-21A' would be the first of Proton's new generation of global cars that are being built according to the latest global rules and regulations which governed various parameters such as emission and safety standards.

"In line with aspirations of becoming a global car manufacturer, the group's fleet of Saga electric vehicles and Exora range extender electric vehicles that are currently being used by the government are also expected to be made commercially available by 2013," he said.

Hybrid car is more safer ?

Is it sound ridiculous ? Yes its true, hybrid vehicles are 25 percent safer for their occupants than conventional fuel models but are more hazardous for pedestrians, according to a study from an insurance institute released on Thursday.

It may come as no surprise that heavier cars provide better protection to passengers in a collision than lighter cars. It turns out that the batteries that help to power hybrids actually create more weight, making them on average 10 percent heavier than regular cars. The study by insurance institute used more than 25 hybrid cars paired with their standard-model versions.

The analysis included more than 25 hybrid-conventional vehicle pairs, all of them 2003-2011 models, with at least one collision claim and at least one related injury claim filed from 2002 to 2010.

However, another research carried out by the Highway Loss Data Institute shown that among 17 pairings of hybrid and non-hybrid vehicles, the hybrids were 20 percent more likely to be involved in an accident with a pedestrian. This is because when driving in electric mode, hybrids are so quiet that pedestrians often do not hear them approaching.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has already been promoting a measure that would require hybrids and electric vehicles to emit a noise to warn pedestrians of their approach.

Many automakers such as Toyota and Lexus are working on device that can produce sounde alert for their cars.

Road accidents occurs everyday and we never know when is our time. Those who have been experienced road accidents might know what do's and dont's when such thing happen. You may be a meticulously careful motorist who has never needed to make a claim, but it pays to have an umbrella ready in case it rains, doesn't it?

Type of Motor Insurance

Motor insurance are compulsory if you buy a motor vehicle, there are many type of motor insurance available, however, the common types are:

Type of Motor Insurance
Third party cover	This policy insures you against claims for bodily injuries or deaths caused to other persons (known as the third party), as well as loss or damage to third party property caused by your vehicle.
Third party, fire and theft cover	This policy provides insurance against claims for third party bodily injury and death, third party property loss or damage, and loss or damage to your own vehicle due to accidental fire or theft.
Comprehensive cover	This policy provides the widest coverage, i.e. third party bodily injury and death, third party property loss or damage and loss or damage to your own vehicle due to accidental fire, theft or an accident.

In this post, we share some info what you need to do if an accident occurs, in order to protect yourself. Firstly, you must stop your vehicle and exchange particulars with all the other people involved in the accident.

What you should do in the event of an accident/loss

Take notes of the accident – If you are involved in a motor accident, take notes of the accident, i.e. the names and addresses of all drivers and passengers involved, vehicle registration numbers, make and model of each vehicle involved, the drivers' licence numbers and insurance identification as well as the names and addresses of as many witnesses as possible
Make a police report – You are required by law to lodge a police report within 24 hours of a road accident.
Notify your insurance company – You must notify your insurance company in writing with full details as soon as possible. Depending on the type of claim you intend to make, you may have to notify other insurance companies (please refer to ' Making a claim against an insurance company' for details). If you fail to report the accident, you will be liable for your own loss as well as any third party claim against you.
Select the workshop – You must send your damaged vehicle to a workshop approved by your insurance company. If the accident occurs during office hours, you may call the hotline/ emergency assistance numbers provided by your insurance company. Otherwise, you may call your insurance company for the nearest approved workshop. Should the accident occur outside office hours and you are making a claim against your policy, i.e. an own damage claim, you should ensure that your vehicle is towed to a workshop approved under the Persatuan Insuran Am Malaysia Approved Repairers Scheme [called a PIAM Approved Repairers Scheme (PARS)]. If you are making a third party claim, it is advisable to also send your vehicle to a PARS workshop.

Making a claim against an insurance company Accident claims
When you are involved in an accident, you may either make an own damage claim or a third party claim for the breakdown cover :
Own damage claim

This refers to making a claim on your own insurance policy, i.e. you have a comprehensive policy. However, you will lose your NCD entitlement.
In notifying your insurance company of the accident, enquire about the names of approved workshops to send your vehicle for repair.
Submit the fully completed Motor Accident Report Form together with all supporting documents as soon as possible to your insurance company.
The workshop will commence repairs on your vehicle upon the approval of your insurance company.
Upon completion of repairs, you will be informed by the workshop to collect your vehicle.

Third party claim

You may make a third party claim if you are not the party at fault in the accident and you can retain your NCD entitlement.
There are two ways of making a third party claim, i.e. submit the claim directly to the insurance company of the party at fault or, if you have a comprehensive policy, submit the claim to your insurance company. You are encouraged to submit your claim to your own insurance company for speedier claims processing.
As the third party claimant, you are required to mitigate your loss i.e. you must act to minimise your loss.
Appoint a licensed adjuster to assess the loss. The workshop or the third party insurance company may advise you on this.

Theft claims

After submission of the claim form, you must cooperate fully with your insurance company or its representative during the course of investigation of the theft claim.
In view that the police and your insurance company will require time to investigate your claim, you will receive the offer of settlement from your insurance company within six months from the theft notification or upon completion of police investigations, whichever is earlier

Principle of indemnity
The principle of indemnity is crucial in insurance. Based on this principle, the insurance cover will compensate your loss by putting you back to the same position you were in immediately before the loss. As you will be compensated only for the loss suffered, you cannot 'profit' from a motor insurance claim. Therefore, if your vehicle is more than five years old, betterment will apply.
Betterment occurs when in the course of repairing an accident-damaged vehicle, an old part is replaced with a new franchise part. In line with the principle of indemnity, you will have to bear the difference in costs as you are in a better position after the accident with the new franchise part. However, the application of betterment is at the discretion of your insurance company. Should your insurance company apply betterment, it will be in accordance with the standard scale of betterment adopted by the industry as follows :

White and pearl white have caught up with silver to share top spot as the world's most popular car colour.

In its annual Automotive Colour Popularity Report, automotive car brand DuPont revealed that 22 percent of car buyers around the world opted for white, the same amount that plumped for traditional favorite silver.

The growth in popularity means that black or black effect cars are in second place globally, with 20 percent market share.

"While white/white pearl has historically been a popular colour for vehicles, we've seen a bigger shift in its popularity this year than DuPont expected," said Nancy Lockhart, DuPont colour marketing manager.

White was the most popular colour in North America for the fifth consecutive year, DuPont found, but it failed to topple black as the colour of choice in Europe, despite surging five percentage points over last year on the back of what DuPont describes as "inspiration for the ecological megatrend."

Its growth was at the expense of gray and silver, which took third and fourth place in Europe, while blue scraped into fifth place.

Japanese buyers also opted for white the most, but other Asian countries preferred silver, which topped the market in both China and South Korea, making it the most popular colour overall in Asia.

Other regional trends saw South America opting for silver and Russians choosing a surprisingly high proportion of green models, which made up seven percent of the Russian market but just two percent globally.

KUALA LUMPUR: Sebuah syarikat jualan kereta terpakai di pinggir ibu kota dipercayai mengaut keuntungan mencecah ribuan ringgit hasil memperdaya pelanggan yang berminat mendapatkan kenderaan.

Taktik digunakan mudah, hanya melengah-lengah masa menyediakan kereta dipesan selain meminta pembeli menambah beberapa lagi bayaran atau caj tertentu sehingga mereka bosan dan membatalkan urus niaga.

Wang sudah dibayar dianggap 'hangus' menyebabkan ramai pembeli berputih mata malah difahamkan kira-kira 30 pembeli sudah menjadi mangsa sejak 2009 lalu.

Seorang mangsa, Khairul Azman Othman, 26, berkata, dia kerugian RM12,100 selepas membeli Toyota MRX terpakai di syarikat itu pada hujung 2009 lalu.

"Mulanya saya membayar RM1,000 sebagai deposit, tetapi jurujual meminta saya menambah lagi wang itu masing-masing RM3,000 dan RM8,000 dengan pelbagai alasan. Akhir sekali dia meminta tambahan RM5,000 kononnya sebagai caj perkhidmatan dan memberi kata dua, saya perlu bayar segera jika mahu kereta dikeluarkan.

"Saya meminta dia menyediakan resit, tetapi dia enggan menyebabkan saya terpaksa membatalkan urus niaga itu," katanya yang ditemui selepas mengadakan pertemuan dengan Pengerusi Sukarelawan Peguam (SukaGuam), Datuk Khairul Anwar Rahmat untuk mendapatkan bantuan dari sudut undang-undang, di sini, baru-baru ini.

Khairul Azman berkata, dia memfailkan permohonan ganti rugi di Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna di Shah Alam dan keputusan pada 5 Ogos 2010 memihak kepadanya apabila syarikat itu diminta membayar sejumlah wang.

"Malangnya sehingga kini, syarikat itu tidak membuat sebarang pembayaran kepada saya dan masih beroperasi seperti biasa," katanya.

Seorang lagi mangsa, Nuril Azrin Fadzil, 34, berkata, dia kerugian wang deposit RM2,000 untuk membeli Perodua Myvi terpakai dengan taktik penipuan sama.

"Saya bercadang membeli kereta itu pada Januari 2010 lalu dan selepas merasakan diri ditipu, saya merujuk ke Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna dan syarikat terbabit diarah membayar ganti rugi namun sehingga sekarang saya belum menerima apa-apa bayaran.

"Saya turut melaporkan perbuatan syarikat itu kepada pihak berkuasa tempatan (PBT) dan polis kerana mengesyaki ia beroperasi tanpa lesen," katanya.

Sementara itu, Khairul Anwar berkata, orang ramai yang terpedaya dengan syarikat itu diminta tampil ke SukaGuam bagi urusan mengumpulkan maklumat bagi memudahkan proses memfailkan saman secara berkelompok.

"Saya juga meminta pihak institusi perbankan memperkenalkan sistem pembiayaan pinjaman kereta dengan cara pembeli berurusan terus dengan bank bagi mengelak berlaku kejadian seumpama ini.

"Pembeli membayar terus deposit kepada institusi perbankan manakala bagi kereta terpakai, pihak bank perlu menyiasat syarikat jualan sama ada ia mempunyai rekod baik atau sebaliknya. Dengan cara itu, pembeli dapat dilindungi daripada penipuan," katanya.

Gambar spyshot tersebut ditangkap sekitar Sungkai-Slim waktu petang dengan kelajuan 130km-140km/j. Lagi beberapa gambar spyshots Proton Persona R di beberapa lokasi yang telah dikenal pasti semasa pihak Proton melakukan ujian.

Makin lama kami lihat pelekat hitam yang digunakan untuk menutup rekabentuk luaran Proton Persona R makin hilang sedikit sebanyak dah mula kelihatan beberapa bahagian pada model ini. Kalau dilihat daripada luarannya, saiz Proton Persona R agak besar jika dilihat daripada tempat duduk belakangnya.

Pada bahagian belakangnya, lampu masih lagi ditutup dengan pelekat. Entah bagaimana rupanya nanti apabila dilancarkan kelak. Agak sukar juga nak menjangkakan rekaan sebenarnya. Tetapi……kami haraplah sangat agar semua nanti akan menggunakan LED termasuklah lampur signal dan undur.

Kemudian kalau anda perasaan di bahagian side mirror adalah komponen bawa kehadapan atau carry over parts dari Persona dan Saga, berbeza dari model konsep yang mempunyai side mirror pasangan panel pintu. Kami sendiri menyuka iside mirror berkonsep Tuah. Side mirror yang boleh lipat atau electric retractable side mirror juga boleh menambah ciri mewah dan upmarket pada Proton Persona R. Tetapi….. kalau dah side mirror ini adalah final produk, nampak gaya kena tunggu lagi untuk Proton keluarkan model yang mempunyai side mirror seperti itu.

We hope, Proton will be able to produce good car which can provide excellent fuel efficiency and of course selling at a price that many Malaysian can afford to buy. Based on other car blogs, many are saying that the SAGA will be priced around 70k and he Exora REEV between 90k-100k.

Piloting one of the two Satria Neo S2000s will be Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) leader Chris Atkinson, while the other will be driven by double FIA European Rally Champion and former winner of the San Remo Rally, Giandomenico Basso.

Having won three of the rour APRC rounds so far this year, Atkinson currently leads the APRC standings, and requires only to finish when he competes in the following week’s Rally of Hokkaido to seal the 2011 championship. Pagi-pagi kereta perodua kelisa aku dah buat hal, bukan apa tapi sebab lama
tak jalan hehehe.. lebih dari seminggu. Jadi baterinya pun dah le weak le
kan.

Sini aku nak kongsi skit sebab mungkin ada yg dah lupa camne nak jump
kereta ni kan.

Kabel jump tu, kalau boleh biar le beso skit, kalau sizenya kecil tak cukup
power.

Langkah2nya:

1. sambung jumper tu ke point bateri weak warna merah
2. sambung kan pulak ke point bateri kuat warna merah
3. sambungkan ke point bateri kuat warna hitam
4. sambungkan ke grounding
5. hidupkan enjin kena yg ada bateri ok, biar enjin hidup beberapa minit
6. start enjin kereta yg bateri weak, hidup le tu dia

Tak hidup jugak, call le aku kalau kejadian ni berlaku di kawasan Shah Alam
dan Subang Jaya. Boleh le aku tolong skit2.

Tip: Kalau tak boleh jugak, cuba disconnect kabel hon dan cuba longgarkan
sambungan ke bateri supaya alarm tak berbunyi.

2563km enjin ok lagi, takde masalah atau bunyi pelik2. Kira masih belum ada
benda2 yang tak sepatutnya untuk kereta baru.

Jumper aku dah guna tadi untuk jumpkan ke kereta perodua aku yg baterinya
weak. Ok le jumper Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G ni kan, takde le kecil sangat.
Sekali sambung je dah boleh start enjin perodua kelisa tu.

Park sensor kat depan banyak membantu semasa masuk parking, lambat le sikit

Minggu lepas aku balik Taiping dari Subang Jaya, saja nak try power Toyota
Corolla Altis 1.8G. Camne performance dia kan…dan juga aku nak cuba kira
minyak RON95 yg aku guna ni, jimat ke tidak. Kalau ikut iklan Toyota kata
0.11sen/km, betul ke?

Subang Jaya ke Taiping lebih kurang 300km, aku lupa set kat meter tuh. Masa
balik dari Taiping ke Subang Jaya, aku isi minyak penuh dan masa sampai
Subang Jaya aku dengan rajinnya isi minyak lagi RON 95 je tau.

300km, nilai minyak rm36. Kira punya kira, dapatle 0.12sen/km, jimat jugak
ni kan, tul tak? Ini kat PLUS average 140km/j. Rasa konfident le banding
dgn proton aku dulu, ambil koner steady Cuma kalau koner belah kiri aku
takut skit, kanan ok aku berani ini bukan sebab kereta, ini sebab aku
sendiri.

Jadi kesimpulannya, jalan jarak jauh Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G berdasarkan
pengalaman aku:
1. minyak 0.12sen/km
2. speed 140km/j ok je, aku takut nak lebih lagi hehe, sekali sekala

KUALA LUMPUR - Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn. Bhd. (Perodua) menjangkakan jualan varian terbaharu model Myvi iaitu Edisi Khas Myvi (SE) dan Extreme dengan enjin berkuasa 1.5 liter akan mendapat sambutan memberangsangkan daripada pengguna.

Ketua Pengarah Perodua, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh berkata, varian terbaharu yang turut menggandingkan kuasa, gaya dan keselesaan itu diunjurkan menyumbang di antara 45 sehingga 55 peratus kepada keseluruhan jualan bulanan model Myvi baharu.

"Pengenalan model ini adalah susulan daripada permintaan pengguna yang inginkan model Myvi dengan enjin lebih berkuasa daripada yang ditawarkan sebelum ini iaitu 1.3 liter.

"Dengan pelancaran ini, kami yakin sasaran jualan keseluruhan tahun ini iaitu 190,000 unit bakal dicapai di samping momentum jualan kedua-dua model Myvi 1.3 liter dan 1.5 liter berterusan sehingga tahun depan," katanya kepada pemberita selepas majlis pelancaran model terbaharu itu di sini semalam.

Aminar Rashid menjelaskan, model Myvi SE sebelum ini telah menyumbang kira-kira 30 peratus kepada jumlah jualan Myvi.

Selain itu, varian Myvi 1.3 liter baharu juga telah menerima sebanyak 35,000 tempahan dengan sebanyak 19,000 unit telah diserahkan sehingga kini.

Tambah beliau, sehingga kini sebanyak 2,000 unit varian Myvi 1.5 liter telah ditempah yang mana 80 peratus daripadanya untuk model Myvi SE.

Model Myvi SE 1.5 liter dan Myvi Extreme 1.5 liter itu didatangkan dalam transmisi manual dan automatik.

Model Myvi SE menampilkan lima warna iaitu Majestic Yellow, Ivory White, Mystical Purple, Ebony Black dan Glittering Silver, sementara Extreme menawarkan warna Majestic Yellow, Ivory White dan Ebony Black.

Setelah sabar menunggu dalam penuh debaran, akhirnya saudara Fadly Hisham Roplay telah menerima semula Proton Saga 1992 miliknya, tetapi kali ini kereta kesayangannya itu telah berwajah baru hasil sentuhan divisyen permotoran Proton R3. Majlis penyerahan Saga 1992 R3 itu telah berlangsung untuk meraikan pemenang pertama program "My Proton Makover" yang diadakan melalui pertandingan Very Important Proton (VIP).

Melihat kepada gambar-gambar tersebut, bahagian interior paling menarik apabila dashboard lama Saga telah digantikan dengan dashboard baru dari model Saga LMST yang dikeluarkan pada tahun 2003-2008. Proton Holdings Bhd, the national car maker, plans to launch its R3 (Race, Rally, Research) models namely – Saga, Pesona, Inspira and Exora by early next year, said Head Motorsports Division Datuk Abdul Razak Dawood.

He said these models, built by the Motorsports Division under the R3 unit, were still undergoing the modification, prototyping and development processes and the prices were yet to be decided.

"The Proton's R3 models have their own special market especially people who are keen to have some uniqueness and looking for better performance," he said after launching the "My Proton Makeover" programme here Tuesday.

"We will sell these models in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia and also offer the body kits," he said, adding that about 80 units of the Satria R3 model had been sold this year.

Meanwhile the "My Proton Makeover" contest is part of Proton move to acknowledge and reward faithful customers of Proton. Those interested in the programme can register at www.protonVIP.com.

Kemalangan di Kilometer 258.3 Lebuhraya Plus utara Selatan petang tadi sekitar jam 4 petang sewaktu aku seisi keluarga dalam perjalanan pulang ke Johor Bahru menyambut Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Betul betul berlaku depan mata aku dan apa yang aku nak sampaikan disini kepada semua pembaca apabila anda sedang memandu kenderaan di Lebuhraya adalah dinasihatkan agar jangan mengikuti terlalu rapat kenderaan dihadapan anda.

Punca kemalangan kenderaan Myvi yang dinaiki 4 lelaki berbangsa India ini adalah disebabkan mengikuti kenderaan didepannya terlalu rapat sehinggakan apabila kenderaan dihadapan membrek maka myvi yang dipandu tidak dapat dikawal lalu melanggar belakang kenderaan dan seterusnya melanggar pembahagi jalan.

Di Lebuhraya kadar kelajuan yang kita pandu biasanya adalah 80km sejam dan ini merupakan satu hal yang perlu diberikan perhatian kepada para pemandu yang lain.

The much awaited Myvi model finally is here. A new and sportier-looking 1.5-litre variant of the Myvi is expected to boost vehicle sales and will be in the Perodua showrooms as early as 15 September 2011.

The Myvi Extreme 1.5 variant looks quite and more sporty then the predecessor with a full body kit, revamped front end and rear roof spoiler.

Eventhough Perodua has yet to release any price tag for Myvi Extreme 1.5, but speculated that the price is easily above RM60,000 as the current top-end variant of the new 1.3-litre Myvi is priced at RM50,800 (on-the-road with insurance).

Toyota Corolla Altis Dual VVT-i Engine(s)

Toyota engines have been leading the way in terms of refinement and efficiency of late, and this is set to continue with the use of new dual VVT-i engines in the 2008 Altis. While I'm not certain at this time, it would seem logical for Toyota to make use of the new dual VVT-i technology in the Altis, with the 1.6 liter 1ZR-FE and 1.8 liter 2ZR-FE being the two likely options for the Thai market.

The 1.6 liter should produce a healthy 124 hp, while we can expect the 1.8 to be around 140hp, on par with the 1.8 liter Civic power output. But the 1.6 will represent the bulk of the sales here.
The dual VVT-i engines take Toyota's cam shaft variation one step further, allowing independent cam shaft variation for both intake and exhaust timing using one electro-hydraulic variation system for each of the cam shafts.

In the case of the 1.6-liter the torque curve dual VVT-i system enables a very flat torque curve, which stays above 140 Nm from 2,000 rpm right up to 6,000 rpm, with peak torque of 157 Nm at 5,200 rpm.

This characteristic of the engine will mean smooth and powerful acceleration from low engine speeds and excellent top-end power. The new European Corolla uses the 1.6 dual VVT-i engine to achieve fuel economy figures of 15km/l in the European combined fuel cycle.
Although the 1.8 liter will offer even more power, the 1.6 is plenty capable, with 0-100km in just under 10.5 seconds, and a top speed of 195 km/h.
